The Social and Digital Media Manager role is hybrid (a minimum of 3-days required on-site) and serves as an integral part of a innovative communications team responsible for leading Hachette Book Group’s branding strategy. Social media serves as one of the most significant external communications and branding tools for HBG. The Manager is one of the company’s lead digital storytellers and brand ambassador who will be charged with advancing HBG’s mission of making it easy for everyone to discover new worlds of ideas, learning, entertainment, and opportunity.The Manager must maintainstrictconfidentialityin supporting this fast-paced team to provide cross-functional support.

The right candidate is a creative, organized, and mission-driven professional who can produce compelling content across social media platforms, the company intranet, and its consumer-facing external website. A strong understanding of consumer engagement, an ownership mentality, and a steadfast commitment to social and cultural impact, corporate social responsibility, and diversity, equity, and inclusion are essential for success in this role.

The Manager will be expected to become fluent in storytelling about HBG and its cultural impact, philanthropic values, environmental initiatives, and publishing industry leadership. The Manager will create forward-thinking and engaging strategic messaging, increase engagement across platforms to attract/retain top talent including future HBG employees, authors, media and press, ad more, with success measured and adjusted regularly as described in the “Success” section below. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of storytelling, culture, and social impact while contributing to the dynamic publishing world.

This key role requires a minimum of 3 days in the office, as well as flexible hours to attend and cover signature and timely events, including weekends, with occasional travel.

Content Reach and Impressions:Monitoring and sharing the reach and impressions of posts, videos, and campaigns with regular assessments of how well the content is performing with target audiences.

Updates Accuracy & Timeliness:Ensuring that the website and intranet are consistently updated with timely and accurate content, reflecting current events, book launches, and corporate initiatives.

Requirements

As a leading book publisher, we believe that including and representing diverse voices in all aspects of our business is fundamental to what we do. Our publishing programs must reflect the broad range of backgrounds, experiences, political views and ideas that shape our society and publish books for all readers.

The compensation for this position is$65,000 - $70,000. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
