As the Director of Procurement, you will build credibility and collaborative business relationships at the leadership level ensuring governance across direct and indirect spends.Partner with a wide range of procurement leaders and associates to bring together a comprehensive procurement perspectiveEnsures business needs and key strategies are coordinated into leveraged category spend and that there is a clear value proposition to implement sourcing strategiesResponsible for speaking on behalf of the procurement function regarding all relevant categories and functional initiativesDirect responsibility for customer relationship management at the Business or Functional Leadership Team level and where appropriate, R&D and New Product Development groupsWorks in close alignment and collaboration with regional procurement leaders and category strategy leadersMay be a member of the Extended Procurement Leadership Team, and if so, contributes to overall functional strategy and procure to pay process improvementsKey responsibilities will include:Works with other procurement associates to encourage consensus among various stakeholder groups and achieve objectivesActively identifies gaps, proposes and implements changes necessary to close gaps, which may be related to supplier, processes or other commercial issuesOptimally uses all change tools to facilitate adoption of changeContributes to overall functional strategy and procure to pay process improvementsEducates internal / external customers on various technical and procurement process issuesAbout you:To be successful, you require:Proven knowledge of year-on-year direct and indirect spend, pricing and associated movementProcurement, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Management in either or both Manufacturing and Services environmentsBroad business knowledge and acumenStrategic sourcing or category management with a history of successful implementationSupplier value management, supplier development and continuous improvementChampion change and innovationBalances critical thinking with tactical action to get resultsStrategic agility, eye for business and managing complexityWorking and influencing within a highly matrixed organizationDevelops partnerships; builds and maintains strong working relationshipsA consistent track record of developing programs and collaborating with others to reach mutual outcomesAdept at leading and working in diverse environmentsBachelor’s degree in a related fieldExperience directing a team of professionalsWhy Join Us?A career at BD means being part of a team that values your opinions and contributions and that encourages you to bring your authentic self to work.
