ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerform administrative duties, including but not limited to scheduling, directing/responding to inquiries, maintaining book archives, filing expense reports, coordinating business travel, maintaining contact database, misc. research projects, etc.Enter title data into proprietary database systems and maintain data throughout publishing process.Draft catalog, flap/cover and other descriptive copy and fact sheets that will be used to explain books to the sales and marketing departments.Prepare related materials for book projects through all stages of the editorial process from acquisition through final book.Read, report on, log in, track, and respond to submissions of projects targeted to children and young adultsCommunicate with authors and agents about project status, payments, review news, etc.Interact professionally with internal departments within Little Brown Young Readers and HBG, including design, publicity, marketing, production, and sales.Request production cost quotes and prepare profit-and-loss statements.Draft and circulate contract forms.Attend, prepare materials, and take/distribute minutes for editorial meetings, and marketing and sales meetings as required.Research book sales using internal and external databases.Participate in brainstorming meetings and share ideas for books and other products.

The compensation for this position is $47,500. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
