The position requires the candidate to live withinUnit 1 (Southern California, Arizona (Phoenix), or Nevada (Las Vegas) and includes up to 50% travel to support it’s Pods and must be close to an airport to accommodate travel.ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking an inspirational and experienced Environmental & Safety Director to support PepsiCo’s US Beverage Manufacturing & Warehouse Operations for Unit 1, including the West Pod (California, Arizona, and Nevada). This leader will report to the Sr. EHS Director and will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the areas of Safety, Health, and Environmental compliance, driving initiatives that minimize EHS risks and ensure the protection of PepsiCo employees and the communities in which we operate. The role requires effective execution of PepsiCo’s EHS programs, including the PBNA EHS Zero Zone Annual Operating Plan (AOP), and the development of localized EHS teams based on AOP and risk assessments. This leader will be responsible for managing and inspiring a diverse group of EHS professionals, managing the PepsiCo Way Leadership framework, collaborating to develop best-in-class programs, and succeeding in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment. Challenging the status quo and creating a Winning Team will be critical to success.Team Leadership & Development:Coach, develop, and lead a team of 10-20 direct reports within the EHS field organization to execute the Zero Zone Annual Operating PlanProvide inspirational leadership in ensuring alignment with EHS goals, fostering a strong EHS culture, and driving continuous improvement within the team.Utilize strong influencing skills to ensure EHS values are upheld across all levels of the organization.Compliance & Program Implementation:Lead the implementation of EHS program elements and tools to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT) as well as company requirements such as Lockout, Haz Com, Machine Safety, SARA, RCRA, etc.Conduct regular plant visits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, Zero Zone Management System standards, and PepsiCo GEHSMS policies.Technical Expertise & Process Improvement:Provide technical and regulatory expertise to support the development of continuous EHS improvement processes.Assist in developing and executing follow-up activities related to EHS incidents, agency inspections, and internal/external audits.Analyze key EHS data and trends to identify gaps, develop prevention plans, and improve processes.Strategic Planning & Performance Management:Contribute to the development of strategic EHS annual operating plans, assessing field location performance and ensuring alignment with the EHS vision/plan.Implement necessary course corrections to ensure goals are achieved and risk reduction targets are met.Understand key performance indicators (KPIs), benchmark performance across locations, and collaborate with stakeholders to reduce EHS risks.Risk Assessment & Control Measures:Develop and perform risk assessments to identify safety hazards and determine effective physical or behavioral control measures.Recognize and validate the effectiveness of implemented control measures.Identify unsafe equipment operation or conditions, and recommend and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.KPI Development & EHS Performance:Collaborate in the development of leading and lagging Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that align with best-in-class EHS performance.Ensure KPIs support an EHS culture shift and the timely achievement of risk reduction goals.Collaboration & Communication:Act as a liaison between internal EHS teams and other business partners, such as Engineering, HR, Legal, and Operations, to drive continuous EHS improvement.Define and analyze EHS performance data trends, ensuring appropriate priorities are identified and acted upon.Corrective Action & Root Cause Analysis:Lead field locations in the development of corrective action plans to address root causes of issues and management system weaknesses.Use industry-recognized root cause analysis techniques (e.g., 5-Why, 8-D) to identify issues and ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented.Compensation and Benefits:The expected compensation range for this position is between $125,900 -
