What Your Job Will Be Like:We are seeking Summer - R&D Undergraduate Interns from PARTNERS universities (University of Central Florida, Florida A&M University, University of California Irvine), as part of the NNSA Minority Serving Institution Partnership Program (MSIPP), to work collaboratively with Sandia National Laboratories R&D staff to perform cutting-edge research, analyze experimental data, develop models, and run simulations. Work tasks identified for interns include research in the following topic areas:Wind energy airfoil design, machine learning, optimizationMolten salt power cycles and concentrating solarHypersonic flows, cavity flows, wind tunnel testing, CFD simulationsCombustion and flame science, multiphase reacting flows, spray and aerosols, optical diagnosticsAerospace experiments including particle image velocimetry, remote atmospheric sensing, and optical diagnosticsAdvanced reactors such as supercritical CO2 power cyclesProliferation detection and remote sensing
