Job Description SummaryThe Life Cycle Assessment Engineer leads development of the product environmental strategy for GE GRID GSI business, in line with customer and market needs. This includes efforts to integrate environmentally driven insights into product and business decisions and build a framework to monitor and mitigate the environmental footprint of the Onshore/Offshore portfolio (including products, services, and supply chain). The position requires previous knowledge and experience in LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) and eco-design to lead and implement GRID GSI Onshore / Offshore product environmental process.Life Cycle Assessment Engineers have an important role to play in designing our products with circularity and low-carbon footprint in mind: utilizing more recycled materials into our products, reducing waste in our designs and our manufacturing, extending the lifetimes of our products, and developing materials and designs that can be more easily recycled. Each of these design changes will come with environmental, performance and cost trade-offs that we need to be able to quantify using digital tools. Furthermore, we need to be able to utilize these insights to make strategic decisions on our technology decarbonization and circularity roadmaps.
