Location/Division Specific Information:Third Shift: Sunday-Thursday 12:00AM-8:30AMGrand Island, NY-Biologicals and Chemicals Division (BCD). Your impact will range from delivering products that help a scientist discover a cure for cancer to helping a nurse care for a patient effectively because they have the right equipment.A Day in the Life:Process customer orders daily to meet their expectations.Work in one or more process paths; receiving, picking, packing, or shipping.Prepares shipping documents, coordinates shipments with couriers, and ships materials, including finished products, per applicable SOPs.Ensure inventory is stored accurately.Work with your team to make sure everyone has a magical experience every day.Education:High school diploma or equivalent required.Experience:Minimum of one year of general warehouse experience.One to two years' experience working with computers and basic software packages, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.Experience with powered industrial trucks (order pickers).Experience handling hazardous materials (chemicals) is a plus.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:Maintain knowledge of current import/export regulations as they relate to shipment of goods to and from the USA.Ability to analyze and solve problems independently as well as collaboratively.Self-motivated, self-starter with strong organizational skills.Strong verbal and written communication skillsSuccessful in partnering with colleagues of differing cultural, language and educational backgrounds.Demonstrates the Thermo Fisher values (The Four I’s) - Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement.Physical Requirements / Work EnvironmentAbility to regularly sit, stand, walk, talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
