The Intern will be exposed to a variety of departments and work environments during the internship. This will involve travel to and between various plants in Pennsy Supply’s Harrisburg, PA market region.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)Adhere to and follow all safety rules and regulations of MSHA/OSHA/DOT and Pennsy Supply, Inc.Conduct daily safety assignments (area inspections, pre-shifts, JSA’s, TRACK, etc)Work with Operations staff to review and learn the following:Capital project planning, budgeting, and managementMaintenance activities and process improvementMine overview and explanation of the mine planning processMay briefly train as a ground person, equipment operator and/or plant operatorMay briefly assist on the plant maintenance crewUnderstand components of preventative and predictive maintenance programsProcess overview, KPI’s, production reports, dispatching componentQuality control issues, including understanding of sampling and testing proceduresTo a lesser extent, work with the Customer Support and Operations departments to review the following:Spend time with Construction Manager, Construction Superintendent and Sales RepresentativeDispatch - customer service-related issues and work order processDelivery of product - aggregate, asphalt and/or concreteFinancial reports related to the departmentUnderstand how plant operations affect customersRegular and timely attendanceMust be willing and able to travel to plant locations.Other duties as assignedEducation/ExperienceMechanical Engineering major, current sophomore or junior.Desired 3.0 GPA or higher.Excellent computer skills and proficient in Word and Excel.General RequirementsMobility to attend various meetings and events at offsite locations.Must submit to a drug screen and criminal background checkAbility to travel with a current driver’s license.What CRH Offers YouHighly competitive base payA diverse and inclusive culture that values opportunity for growth, development, and internal promotionAbout CRHCRH has a long and proud heritage.
