As a Data Scientist Vice President in our Merchant Services team, you will be responsible for executing big data analytics projects in response to product innovation. You will have the opportunity to define and execute a multi-year global analytics strategy and roadmap, creating impactful data products and solutions that reach thousands of clients globally. Your insights will promote optimization of location and targeted marketing strategy for large merchants, and as the analytics mature, these insights can be productized into products for merchants (“insights as a service”). You will also have the chance to develop subject matter expertise in a world-class Payment’s organization, contributing to innovative analytics for the future of end-to-end payment optimization.Job Responsibilities:Develop and plan analytic projects through understanding the business objectives in the team strategy roadmapDevelop robust analysis and deliverable plans to support clear and shared understanding of project requirements and goalsDevelop the data, queries, tables and visualizations that deliver insight both as an individual contributor and in collaboration with team matesProvide actionable recommendations through deep subject matter expertise to merchants on how to optimize their customer engagement strategiesBringing creative solutions to the firm’s biggest problems: where could our existing solutions do better?Contribute to the development of data models for future analytics and platforms, in conjunction with data owners and department managers,Collaborating with unit managers, end users, development staff, and other stakeholders to understand the business value of each analytic effortApply quality assurance best practices for analytics services and support user feedback and questionsAdhere to change control and testing processes for modifications to code and productsRequired qualifications, capabilities and skills:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, computer science, statistics, mathematics or similar technical or quantitative field8+ years of working in a big data environment as a contributing member in self-directed roles3+ years of leading team of analytical professionalsDeep experience across the full range of database and business intelligence tools especially Snow SQL and ability for rapid prototyping in Tableau; publishing and presenting information in an engaging wayExpertise in data mining, quantitative research techniques and data analytics using python or RUnderstanding of algorithms and software engineering fundamentalsDemonstrated ability to distill KPIs and other performance metrics from dataIntensive, recent experience in assessing and sourcing data, optimizing data structure and managing database query performanceAbility to clearly develop and document analytic requirements with stakeholdersStrong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work across functions as well as with outside parties to ensure alignment and timely implementation of initiativesProven strategic thinking and creative problem solving skills with ability to translate strategy into deliverablesABOUT USJPMorganChase, one of the oldest financial institutions, offers innovative financial solutions to millions of consumers, small businesses and many of the world’s most prominent corporate, institutional and government clients under the J.P.
