Meta Reality Labs Research is looking for an intern to help us develop the next generation interactive physics simulators for MR and VR applications. In particular, we are seeking candidates who have experience with physics simulations, computational mechanics, and computer graphics, along with experience in machine/deep learning methods to devise acceleration strategies to bring high-fidelity simulations to real time.Our internships are twelve (12) to twenty-four (24) weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year. Some projects may require a minimum of 16 consecutive weeks.Research Scientist Intern, Interactive Physics Simulations (PhD) Responsibilities:Develop, implement, and test novel numerical methods for the interactive simulation of soft deformable bodies, fluids and physics-based sound to enable realistic virtual interactions.Develop and implement numerical methods for numerical optimization, numerical linear algebra, numerical PDEs and AI/ML, as well as performing analysis on these methods.Implement and optimize the methods devised in a larger software infrastructure, and collaborate with research scientists and software engineers to build demos and experiences based upon the developed tools.Minimum Qualifications:
