The vision is to elevate the Microbiology Division Operations performance to become a competitive advantage and a great place to work. You will create an integrated network with innovative processes, capability, and infrastructure. The successful candidate will develop a strong team and leadership talent. You will be using the PPI business system to deliver margin improvement, colleague engagement and outstanding customer service. To achieve these objectives, the role has matrix responsibility for Supply Chain, Quality, HR, and Finance.Responsibilities:Deliver on the Annual Operational Plan and strategic business plans and drive efficiencies.Be accountable for the sites' Safety, Health, and Environmental obligations within the UK in line with both Thermo Fisher requirements and wider UK legal requirements, including process safety.Put the customer first, ensure their needs are understood and delivered upon, reduce back orders.Drive efficiency savings - productivity projects - support sourcing alternatives for step change savings.Build, develop and lead a leadership team capable of carrying out needed operational strategies, employee development activities and driving cultural change.Achieve the sites goals through PPI and other continuous improvement tools.Run large projects with capital investment to optimise Return on Investment.Establish effective partnerships with Quality and ensure that all quality standards and appropriate regulatory requirements are met.Distribution Centre: work with supply chain on optimizing the distribution resources and modelREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSEducation:Minimum Bachelor’s degree within scientific, engineering, or manufacturing field. Additional business qualification preferred (e.g. MBA).Experience:Minimum 10 years business experience showing clear progression through Operations leadership roles.Minimum 5 years leading operations with a mid-sized (100+ manufacturing/operations employees) manufacturing environment.Knowledge of production of culture media and immunodiagnostic techniques, preferred.Experience working in healthcare manufacturing or similar regulated environment with a strong safety and quality culture using data to deliver performance improvements.At Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., we are committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace.
