DescriptionWe’re looking for a highly motivated systems software engineer with excellent analytics, problem solving and communication skills to: * Develop, analyze, and present key performance metrics, tools, dashboards, reports and infrastructure for highly-visible OS features * Design, implement, optimize, and evangelize new operating system constructs to enable intelligent resource management * Write elegant, performant code and test, debug, and productize it * Rapidly prototype new ideas and features in collaboration with others * Consult with and influence other teams to drive adoption of new APIsMinimum QualificationsStrong programming background and technical skills with 2+ years after a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related fieldClear understanding of operating system components and responsibilitiesStrong foundation in statistics and data analysis to derive meaningful insights from large datasetsHighly professional and collaborative with outstanding communication and presentation skillsPreferred QualificationsM.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with strong statistical skills and intuitionFamiliarity with Python, Objective C, or SwiftWorking knowledge of Operating Systems (memory management, resource contention, thread/process lifecycles, file systems, etc.)Ability to deliver high quality work on tight schedules consistentlyExperience driving cross-functional projects with diverse sets of stakeholdersProven track record leading software projects from inception through customer deliveryPay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 and $250,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
