We are looking for aSenior Software Developer, Backend (Scala)with expertise infunctional programmingto join our high-performing development team. In this role, you will leverage your hands-on experience withScalaor similar functional programming languages to design and deliver scalable, high-quality microservices. You’ll be a key contributor in building robust systems that solve real customer problems, while fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment. This role requires deep technical expertise and the ability to work across the full development lifecycle, from designing and implementing solutions to ensuring they meet production-grade standards. Your proficiency infunctional programming paradigmsand passion for clean, maintainable code will drive innovation and efficiency within the team. If you have experience withfunctional programming languageslikeHaskell, F#, Clojure, Kotlin, orErlang, and are excited about working in a Scala-focused environment, this is the perfect opportunity to make an impact. In line with Hootsuite’s distributed workforce strategy, our flexible work arrangement allows for remote work or a hybrid model. Based out of our Toronto or Vancouver office, or working remotely from Edmonton, you’ll report to the Manager, Software Development.
