Central Performance Engineering team is responsible for developing and delivering solution for all performance engineering needs in Salesforce. The vision is for performance service to empower performance engineers and developers alike to test more and test often in public cloud. The service standardizes access to salesforce services for performance testing and analysis. Work on Go, AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, Spinnaker and Terraform and other leading cloud technologies. This work is critical to ensure Salesforce can sustain the tremendous growth we have seen in our transaction and data volumes on Public Cloud. As an engineer, you will envision, design, develop, deploy and own the end to end full service. You will deliver awesome solutions that solves a real problem.Required Skills14+ years of development experience, with at least 5+ years of experience in optimizing applications with high performance and large scaleA mastery of a programming languages (e.g. Java, C++) and strong Object-Oriented programming skills with focus on optimizations, design patterns and best practices2+ years of experience with Kubernetes, Docker and related technologiesStrong command on analyzing and fine tuning algorithms and data structuresKnowledge of AWS/GCP/Azure fundamentals and infrastructure as codeStrong knowledge and experience with optimizing queries on Oracle and similar Relational DatabasesExperience with agile and test-driven-development techniquesStrong sense of service ownershipProven track records to deliver projects consistentlyStrong communication and problem solving skills* BE, MS/MTech, or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent work experienceTeam Description:The Central Performance team at Salesforce is a highly skilled engineering group with a deep understanding of system architecture, usage patterns, and traffic. We leverage our expertise in end-to-end applications with GPT/LLM to enhance productivity tools for performance engineers. This includes using code generation and auto-completion to speed up test script development and summarizing performance KPIs to quickly identify actionable issues, promoting a shift-left mindset.Rather than having each Cloud Q4 duplicate efforts, the Central Performance team is best suited to lead and collaborate across clouds to design a unified solution. They serve as the backbone for data-driven analytics, connecting data, AI, and performance. As a team we are well-positioned to tackle new AI-driven products, provide easy insights and analytics, and offer ongoing support for various requests like data traffic modeling and data integrity.
