We have an exciting opportunity within our Retirement Solutions Technology Organization where the development lines are working on a large multi-year Tier 1 initiative along with enhancing existing functionality.  As a Software Engineer you will be able to participate in the design, build, and delivery of high-quality solutions using Java, TypeScript/JavaScript, Angular 8+,RESTful API, Apigee, SQL / PLSQL, WebFocus, PowerBI

As a Specialist Software Engineer you will be:

Leading and participating in the delivery of quality solutions

Leading the design, development, and implementation of IT solutions

Troubleshooting complex software development problems and providing effective solutions

We are looking for individuals with strong communication skills who have a passion to learn and grow their knowledge while helping to upskill less experienced developers in a fast-paced development environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyzes, solutions, develops, tests, debugs, documents and deploys software according to standards in an agile environment.

Uses DevSecOps practices, tooling and techniques.

Drives continuous improvement and learning through ongoing training, practice and innovation.

Manages medium to large project priorities, deadlines and deliverables proactively.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships:Reports to a Technology Manager/Director.

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education:Completion of undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree. Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree.

Experience:Four or more years of analysis and technology experience.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:Proficiency in one or more programming language such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript. Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle. Proven ability to tackle complex business and development problems. Ability to thrive in a team environment. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
