As a level III regional NICU our team provides care to the most critical neonatal cases, accepting transfers from all over Northeast Ohio. In addition to our main campus, we bring our neonatal expertise to the following locations, Summa, St. Elizabeth’s, and Aultman.Summer Orientation DetailsStart Dates:May and June 2025Commitment:Complete general nursing orientation and role-specific training/classes, which may require full-time, day-shift hours.Work part-time to full-time hours alongside your preceptor, with a minimum commitment of 24 hours/week during the program.Work PRN during school semesters and breaks with flexible scheduling options.Be immersed in the patient population and diagnoses specific to your practice setting while learning nurse technician roles and responsibilities.

Summary:

The Nurse Technician I assists in patient/family education and in the delivery of individual care for a group of patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assists in delivering individual care for a group of patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse.2. Assists in patient/family education capabilities and under the direction of a licensed nurse.3. Contributes to the assessment of individual patient care.4. Contributes to the delivery of patient care.5. Participates in the educational efforts of the department and the nursing unit.6. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age and developmental status.7. Other duties as required.
