Our patients range from micro-preemies to full term. In addition to our NICU at Summa in Akron, OH, we bring our neonatal expertise to the following location, Aultman Hospital, Akron Main Campus, and St. Elizabeth’s.

Summary:
The Nurse Technician assists in delivering individual care for a group of patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Assists in patient/family education capabilities and under the direction of a licensed nurse.
Responsibilities:1. Assists in delivering individual care for a group of patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse.2. Assists in patient/family education capabilities and under the direction of a licensed nurse.3. Contributes to the assessment of individual patient care.4. Contributes to the delivery of patient care.5. Participates in the educational efforts of the department and the nursing unit.6. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age and developmental status.7. Other duties as required.
Other information:Technical Expertise1. Experience in one clinical rotation demonstrating the basic skills course in the RN program is required.2. Experience working with all levels within an organization is preferred.3. Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.Education and Experience1. Education: Must currently be enrolled in a baccalaureate accredited registered nursing program. If graduated from the RN program, must be eligible to take boards or awaiting board results for a period of no more than three months.2. Certification: Current Health Care Provider BLS training from the American Heart Association is required.• If assigned to general care units, PEARS is required.• If assigned to neonatal units, NRP is required.3. Years of relevant experience: 0 is required, some health care experience is preferred4. Years of experience supervising: None
