The Traffic Management Division is responsible for planning, designing, installing, repairing, and maintaining the pavement markings, signs, and street lights for the City of Fort Worth. The section is seeking a Traffic Systems Technician I to install, repair and maintain the street light system for the city.The Traffic Systems Technician I job responsibilities include:Installation, repair, and maintenance of traffic control systems, specifically street lightsAbility to operate various specialized tools and equipment related to traffic control system maintenanceRequired to work outside, during inclement weather, at night and on weekends for special events or emergency call-backAbility to work at heights of at least 30 feetMinimum Qualifications:High School diploma/GEDOne (1) year of experience in electrical construction or electrical maintenance constructionValid Texas Class “C” Driver’s LicensePossession of Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire datePreferred Qualifications:Associate Degree in Electronics or a related fieldSpecialized licenses or certifications such as an Apprentice Electrician or Journeyman Electrical Licenses, IMSA Certifications, bucket truck certification, or derrick/digger certificationCandidates with computer software experience are also preferredMust be able to work with minimal supervision
